The Sun, the Moon, & Me

Waking up to a new day,

the sun is already before me.

It is amazing how he smiles,

It should be a simple warning.

Bitter dreams and hopeless wings,

will never take me off the ground.

When I sleep, you envy me,

for that is when I am most safe and sound.

The nights are short and days are long,

they're dragging me to an end.

I hope for the day when I am strong,

to defeat this world I am in.

Waking up to a new day,

the sun is already before me.

It is amazing how he smiles,

He loves to encourage me.

The sweetness of smiles and laughing bees,

I love the brand new day.

It all depends on what the night brings,

for I am better this way.
