The Sun Won't Shine Around Here
The Sun won’t shine around here.
Hasn’t for fifty years.
The clouds just stay,
They won’t go away
And the Sun won’t shine around here.
The Sun won’t shine around here.
Never will again they fear.
All it does is rain,
Causes the flowers pain,
But the Sun won’t shine around here.
The Sun won’t shine around here.
Gives the old folks tears.
‘Cause they remember when
The Sun was their friend,
Yet the Sun won’t shine around here.
The Sun won’t shine around here.
Visitors think it’s queer.
We just wave them away,
Say “We’re here to stay!”
Even if the Sun won’t shine around here.
The Sun won’t shine around here.
When it comes back, we’ll cheer.
I know in my heart
The clouds shall part
And the Sun will shine around here.
