Sunflower
I swayed in the wind, like a tall sunflower.
Arms opened higher than the ground.
I feel the love, the words, “I love you”.
I feel the breathe and the nape of my neck glistened of tiny little bumps.
Only this time it’s not out of love, it’s out of fear.
Fear in my mind, the soul, and heart.
But, “I love you”, those damned words hit me again.
Hit me, keep hitting me harder and harder. Wait stop
But, “I love you”, he keeps saying it, I love you.
Mind is racing, swirling, wait stop.
Can’t stop, my mind is now dark, I can’t leave.
His grip tighter and tighter, both physically and mentally like a snake squeezing its victims last breath.
This time the snake was herself, instead of a man, her hands tremble with a blade.
Her mind goes blank, eyes finally rest, hands don’t tremble, as one last heart beat pumps in her broken body
I’m done, I’m tired. I whisper, “I loved you”.
