The Sunflower's Epiphany

A gardener planted me in her field

Oh the joy she felt from all the crops that she yield

She watered us daily

Even sang us songs with her ukulele

She protected me from all that surround

Pulling all the bad weeds from the ground

Once a small friend grew next to me named dandelion

Our relationship was fake, for dandelion starved me, taking all the food like a vicious lion

Little yellow dandelion taught me that appearances can be deceiving

Laterly I felt confused and was left grieving

Day after day the gardener tended to me

Even though I was just peewee

Because of her I began to grow

I watched her do the same for all that she sough

Today I stand at 6 foot

Hundreds of sunflower seeds I output

My gardener has made me happy all along

She has made me strong

Her relentless commitment and care

In return my seeds will be harvested as fare

She acts as my mother

But we both help each other

Our bond has turned to love

I will always look forward to the touch of her gardening glove
