Sunk
Neck deep.
My limbs cease to lash above the tide
And struggle to support me.
The dark waves cloud my vision
And pound against my soul.
I spot it in the distance
Hope sails in my direction.
I see it
Hear it
Almost feel it
As if it is close enough to grasp.
But just as it is upon me
The last glimpse of hope has sunk at my side.
Neck deep
Waiting for what is gone to return.
