Sunny Days

I can watch the petals breeze away,
as you make this dismal a sunny day.
I could read a book of 700 pages,
but that wouldn't compare to the wisdom of 7 sages.
I want to stop the Earth and freeze the sky,
so the birds would stay still because they wouldn't be able to fly.
I need to listen with my ears and maybe with half a brain,
but I think in the end my heart would just prepare for rain.
Maybe this is nothing more than a phase,
but I don't mind because I have lived nothing but sunny days.
