Sunrise

A new day rises from old to new,

Golden spikes breaking through.

And as the darkness fades,

Light threatens to stay,

And the day once dreaded has come our way.

The bed too warm and the sheets too soft,

No one could be ready to get off.

But the time has come for us to go outside,

Eventually we’ll find our inner guide,

That never ending voice inside.

Constantly telling and yelling

For us to get up, get out, and get going.

So just like the sun each and every day,

We rise despite our feelings of grey.
