Sunrise, Sunset

The sun comes over the hills The worms move from the ground The birds swoop to gobble them up The mothers rush to feed their young And before the sun sets again The sun begins to glitter on the water The birds continue to feed The fish begin to get the food They rush to get that food in the sea And they end up finding the hook in their feed The fish hope to be thrown back before the sun sets again The sun rises and shines through the window, The toddler awakes ready to play for the day He begins to cry to get out of bed So he can play with his toys and imagine in his head He has gotten tired, he wants to sleep So away he goes to sleep is for another days fun While he slumbers, the sun is gone The sun rises through the valley, The kids and teens awake from sleep To shower, to school, they all grumble But once they get home it’s a race A race, to get the homework down Shooting the be the first one done To be outside ready for fun and enjoy the sun before its gone The sun settles in the sky and to sleep the kids and teens must go And with a grumble away they go. The adults awake in the morning To shower, to work, the race is on To get all the work that must be done Taken care of before the day is gone To the office, to the store, Can’t let that sun win today But all is lost as the sun sets And the list of things must wait again Every day the sun rises, Every day the sun sets, The list of things always grows, The rush to beat the sun is eternal But one must stop and think Isn’t there really only one Sunrise and Sunset That we all must beat
