Sunsets

When golden paint dripped from silver haze

I had let the color seep into my eyes

And I watched sunset leak away

Until inky blots obscured my

rainy puddles, reflections

of light strewn to set

heavens ablaze

As golden thread wraps onto silver chiffon

I loop my needles with stars in tandem

And sew in the night across the sky

Until knit constellations form and

Embroidered comets tails fly

Patterned planets orbit

Watching sunset die

If golden topaz wraps around silver clouds

Then maybe I could also mix my metals

And start to rain out all my doubts

Leaving quartz shine puddles

Leaving amber sunshine

And all of the jeweled

Halo hair crowns
