Sunshine

She has the soul of a gentle saint

When she laughs, it's like yellow paint:

Warm and inviting

Happy and exciting

I'm smiling just thinking about it as I'm writing

She has the patience of a parent with two young kids

And an innocence that I worry will be short lived

And even though she is 16, and taller than me

I associate her with things like flowers and bunnies

She has a humor that always has me laughing

And it amazes me that she's so understanding

She's as bright as sunshine after rain

And sometimes she manages to drive me insane

But everything is awesome, as far as I can see

Because I have my little sister

And my little sister has me

This poem is about:
Me
My family
