Sunshine

Because I love you, I notice that sunflowers tilt towards you as you walk past them

I notice that your little brother sleeps in your bed because he's afraid of the dark

Because I love you, I notice that the stars look to you as they're dying

I notice that your favorite colors are infrared and ultraviolet

Because I love you, I notice that on my bad days, your jokes remind me of streetlights

I notice that the moon whispers your name on quiet nights

Because I love you, I notice your light.

And because you love me, it has strengthened mine.
