Sunshine and Flowers

Roses are red, violets are blue

the sunshine is warm, at once so were you

but now the sunshine is gone, the flowers are dead

you hide behind your eyes, inside your head

your smile is cold like the dark thoughts within

I can't help but wonder what made this begin

you lie through your teeth and say that you're fine

I know better, your eyes used to shine

but now the sunshine is gone, the flowers are dead

I watch helplessly as your wrists burn red

what makes you do this, I can't understand

just please don't take your life away from me friend

I miss your smile, your warmth, your glow

you made me happy like no one would know

your laughter could take away all of my dread

but now the sunshine is gone, the flowers are dead.
