Superficial

Do you think that I'm oblivious to your pain?
And yet you'd reach out to anyone but me.
Me who suffers through your silent tears,
and the pangs in your chest,
That were I not I, I would never know.
I don't know how to let show,
A love to be smothered,
Before it can grow.
Because you're so superficial.
