Superstitions
My ears they hear the stories that were told
My eyes, witnessing these stories unfold
My heart, it races at the mind’s conception,
Logical thinking is killed in the midst of deception.
I see these things, hear these things, therefore i fear these things
Superstitions, causing an embodiment of feelings within my being.
Jumping at the sight of a black cat that is about to cross our path
And when someone walks under a ladder we don’t know how to act
Unrealistic thoughts we conform to,
And its realistic thoughts we rebuke too.
A broom touching my feet when someone’s sweeping
Doesn’t mean a marriage is something i should stop seeking
I refuse to accept these childish, immature and unnecessary ideologies that leech on our minds, slowly sucking out the very fabric of the logic found in mankind
Superstition leads to a limited person,
The downfall of Man
