He caressed her soft skin as she wept under the spell of her terror induced dreaming Soon she woke up screaming Her eyes still shut Frightened by the touch She crouched in the corner He tried to comfort her, but She lived the dream Didn't know it wasn't real She could no longer feel A corpse rotting from the inside out Couldn't even shout Just sobbed until she woke Then questioned the words that she had spoke For she was cursed with fears but he was the only one to know the tears He wouldn't tell her what he knew To keep her memories from being new He tossed and turned through the night She cant be cured so she'll fight With bloodshot dreary eyes He woke to her with nothing but a smile She soothed his soul as much as he did hers They lived in comfort with their demons Scars came back and would fade again They were rain and a good book Each others pain killers And took each other in like morphine
