Supposed to be a Child
Supposed to be a child
And supposed to be perfect
No mind of my own
Wonder if it's even worth it
You must understand I have my own desires
I'm the one that has to live through what transpires
I'll make my own castle
The wall and spires
Can't seem to prosper
Seems I'm getting softer
Losing things long sought after
Preaching but I ain't a pastor
Getting tired
How long will this last for
Can call me tactful
Sometimes can call me bashful
Rather punch
Than go through the push and pull
Trying to follow the Lord
Call me soulful
I'm a soulman
I listen to them old bands
You asking why for?
You must never heard Al Jerreau
You watch video hoes
I'm listening to A House Is Not A Home
Stevie Wonder
Kids today
Calling old school music gay
I'm left dumbstruck
Don't know what to say
Close my eyes face up and pray
