Suppressed Origins

No one talks about us

They all remember the heroes

The ones who slew the Mistress of Stone

The ones who were given heroic tasks

The ones who had to fight just for taking a peek in the dark

But they would not be here without us

We are the ones with the beauty

The beauty that attracted THEM

THEY come for us

Flaunting THEIR power to the powerless

Immortality poisons the mind

Lets THEM believe that they can come and take our bodies

We are the mothers of the tragic greats

They faced trials and became heroes

But what about our retribution?

There was no #metoo

We were broken and then left to rot

We scream but no one cares

They look at our hollowed faces and turn away

They let THEM do this to us because they need their heroes

As long as there are bigger problems they will allow this injustice to happen

We are pushed into silence

As our violation becomes celebrated

We must act proud because we brought forth heroes

But they are no heroes to us

Nor will there ever be
