Surgery

The day I walked in,

I had a thought come in;

I lie down with nervousness in my head,

I ponder what’s going to happen.

I get out of the room feeling a little woozy,

Everything is a total blur;

My parents look at me and I don’t even know they’re here,

I’m so out of it nothing seems sure.

They give me so much food to keep up my strength,

The doctors have so much on their mind;

I get a lot of sympathy from people,

The nurses are so kind.

I have that self esteem to work harder,

I walk out of there with my head up;

Always to try my best,

Knowing I’ll never give up.
