surrender

it did happen suddenly my own sanctuary taken from me so hastily this has become routine for me not one I have grown tired of, but rather one whose familiarity brings me comfort such as the smell of blooming flowers in the spring or the scent of my cat's fur which could never become tiring. despite this I have surrendered my own solitude the cracks between those preoccupations accompanying me becoming more hollowed out by the day being restored by thoughts of you I dispute the idea that this feeling might only be a fleeting moment of curiosity, a transient period to mend the threadbare strings of my heart as I have surrendered my sanctuary to you conceded my peace for the warmth that I am consumed by at the mere thought of you
