To Survive

Many say

They would not adventure

Without a friend.

They need them to survive.

Many say

They need an escape

A favorite place

A deity

An animal

A book

To keep them company

If they are

Alone

On a deserted island

Or at home.

I say

I need no other

Than myself.

In this world

It is too easy

To lose one’s self.

To lose your morals

Identity

Confidence

Experiences

Thoughts

Beliefs

Love

It cannot be replaced

You cannot be replaced

I cannot be replaced.

As long as I have myself

As long as I am myself

I will survive.
