Survived the Storm

When the rain hits the ground The tears fall down Hearts never fully recover From the moments in which they drown When the thunder shakes the world The pain returns again Lives are permanently broken From the moments in which they were slain When the lightning strikes the dirt The hope dies away Emotions left to flounder From the moments in which they began to sway When the storm rocks the boat Hearts, emotions, and lives are sent afloat To those who are broken, lost, and trying to recover Time heals wounds, but the scars remain Take the moments that have hurt you As a sign that you lived through the pain Because in the end, you survived the storm And the scars are there to help you rise again
