Surviving Abuse

I hear the sound of the door It's him coming home for sure I hope tonight's a good night I really do not want to fight I put my face in a book So he wont think I'm giving him a look I walk on eggshells every time he's home Just waiting for the violent explosion that's bound to come I have learned not to cry-it only makes him madder I no longer feel the physical pain Emotionally I am completely drained Isn't he supposed to love me? I don't know what my feelings are But I am strong and I have faith This is God's test, and soon I will be out of this mess.
