Surviving Time

Searching for a way to see.

Reaching out for some kind of mercy.

Kneeling before God, I plead,

Please awaken me from this dream.

Searching for something about which to dream.

Trying to open my eyes to finally see.

Looking for reasons to show myself mercy.

For a new and improved heart is which I plead.

Hope to see you again gives me drive,

The courage to wipe away the tears that I cry.

Forsaken by God when I plead to get back lost time.

Begging to return to the days when I could call you mine.

I can't help but cry,

As I listen to our song while down this road I drive.

Remembering the days when I could call you mine.

Wondering how I'll survive all this remaining time.
