Survivor

I am many things

but most of all

I am a survivor

and I will stand tall

I cut once upon a time

across my wrists hoping

to find a restful place

it was my method of coping

it started with one cut

that became many more

the final one

had me knocking on death's door

I was a walking death wish

but as I am still alive

I am a survivor

and now I will thrive
