Survivor Shall Be Me

Defined by a word
Survivor shall be me
Under the depth that rarely do we speak
Something no one should ever endure
I fell victimized by my own father
I was a victim of child abuse

In his eyes and words
I was never going to amount to anything
But I prevailed to never go down that road
That he forcefully paved
Regardless if I behaved

Defined by a word
Survivor shall be me
For I fought to survive with every blow
Praying there will be no more
Through those difficult times
I needed to find a thrive

I am here today
Heading towards where I need to be
Driven about the goals I will achieve

I am a survivor.
