Swallowed Up
Clouds of grey swirl around me as if to say you are not enough
I want to drown them out but it's too much and it overcomes me
What do I do I ask myself
But that question is to big even for me
How can I ask myself that and never know the answer
I want to be okay with the track I have planned
But everyday that I am there I will wish I was here
That is a fate that I don't think I can handle
No matter the cost I must reconsider
I love this place too much to give it up forever
Or even for a summer that seems too much to handle
I want to say I made the right decision
But in all honesty I don't think I did
Last year I made the decision while drunk and disoriented
But I can tell you that I did not come to regret it
As I sit here today though, did I choose the wrong path?
Was my future secure and now it seems tattered
I guess at some point the grey clouds catch up to you
And swallow you up til there is nothing left
This time around it may have got the better of me
But perhaps someday I'll get back up again
Something wrong with this poem?
