The Swan

A bird rustles its feathers in the wind,

Pure white,no discoloring.

I feel his twinkling brown eyes watching me closely,

Filled so full of something that can’t be described…

His smile so bright it blinds my eyes,

But that smile’s just for me, so I smile back.

Can you tell by our smiles how we really feel,

The secret looks , that we try to hide,

The feeling with in that clouds our eyes.

We are blinded by feeling,

We are blinded by each other…

But are we blinded by love?

He opens his mouth and leans closer

whispering in my ear “ I love you…”

The Swan rustling her feathers looks up,

the sun smiles and the breeze dances.

Smiling widely I say “I love you.” back.

Our I love you’s fade away in the wind,

and the tinkling sound of the swans laughter surrounds us...
