Sweep

Amazing rain Amazing feeling Amazing thought Amazing healing. -The Cleanse- It sweeps as it goes, Swift and yet slow, With a rush and a peace Leaving all a mess, yet neat. The calm and the silence Juxtapose the rage and the violence. The act is complete, Growth through defeat.

I always enjoy writing about rain, and am pleased when I find other poems about rain, especially those with as interesting abstractions as this one. Viewing rain as both a force of destruction and creation is a very apt way to describe it--the storm itself may be a whirl of chaos (making this messy, as you say), but afterwards, there is a calm, and things are allowed to grow--plants, people, etc., as water is a necessary seed of life. I particularly like how the fifth line is self contained, almost as though it's an internalization, or an inward breath. It helps create a pause, a calm before the storm. Very well done.
