Sweet Child

Lay down that blade, sweet child.
Your pain today was only mild,
not quite severe enough to suffer cuts,
yet that sweet sting calls your name.

Lay down that blade, sweet child.
Your tears they fall,
but tell me is it the end you call?

Lay down that blade, sweet child.
You're so young, so much road to travel,
but that dead end is taunting, calling, longing.

Lay down that blade, sweet child.
They say the easy way out is selfish,
but aren't they selfish too?
Is it your desire to end,
or them trapping you.

Lay down that blade, sweet child.
You mustn't mistake your heart ache for a dying desire.
The desire to die.

Lay down that blade, sweet child.
Your end is near,
but it's not yet here.
So put down that blade, sweet child.
