Sweet Melody
What is this sweet melody, beckoning to me?
Whispering in my ear, like a crisp autumn’s breeze
Enveloping me so very delicately
In its silky fine blanket of soft, fluffy dreams
This one is no bogart; it is willing to share
Its secrets, its lovers, its tales of despair
Void of all shame, inhibitions bared
Making it no secret, how wonderfully it’s fared
Whenever I am troubled, apathetic and weary
It wavers patiently, waiting to be near me
To hum a harmony, sighing so deeply
Honey to my senses, bewitching me completely
Yet apprehensively, I can only imagine
Music caressing me with its fingers of satin
Tracing a story, my mind it implants in
Weaving threads of idioms into quilts of passion
Its symphony is a serpent, temptation is its key
Stealing all my worries, placing them in a sieve
Engulfing my troubles, evaporating at the seams
Ensuring I sleep eternally, with this sweet melody
