Sweet Memories

I remember being five

sitting in the back seat

Our time was short but so memorably sweet

I'd walk a mile to find you

after the school bell would ring

We'd laugh and talk briefly

And and I'd hold you on the swings

I was just a child back then

And you just my childhood friend

It never crossed my mind that our love was timeless without end

Now I spend long days is class

And work late shifts every night

Yet you're there waiting for me patiently

No complaints, ill words, or fights

I'm hot and you're cold

I'm sour and you're sweet

But our love affair will never die

My beloved ice cream
