Sweet Poison

What sweet pain it is to love.

What a toxic nectar to slurp down so willingly,

How warm of a chill to accept within ourselves,

No doubt in its life, yet forbearance of its death.

An assured aura, ever to frail to see,

Imperfections masked oh so carefully,

As if they are unwelcome to our eyes,

They are unwelcome to our eyes.

Because, we are all scared of falling,

Not the height, nor the climb.

We exhilarate in the flying,

'Till, too late, we realize-

That we're all just stuck pretending,

Maybe we lost sense of where we are...

Not in clouds,

We're stuck on ground,

With broken bones,

No hope to suppose

That it won't hurt if we love,

Even if we love someone above.
