Sweet Sister of Mine
Dear Sister of Mine,
Thank you for saving me from myself.
Those times that you lent me your shoulder.
Those times you lend me your hand.
You've saved me in more ways than you could ever understand.
When I lost the one I cared for, I cared for nothing else.
So much so, that I no longer thought about myself.
Life didn’t matter to me.
I didn’t have the strength to go on.
That was until you came to me and encouraged me to move on.
I had become stagnant.
Without a care in the world.
I was no longer that bright little girl.
I believed it was over.
My future buried with her bones.
That was until I heard the hurt and worry in your tone.
When she was no longer with me,
Standing by my side,
I chose to spend my days with endless tears in my eyes.
I chose to let go
Of my fears and my goals.
Not even considering the damage to my soul.
Sweet sister of mine
For you I am grateful.
I give you my word to always be faithful.
I will stand by your side
Through happiness and pain
And together we will fight through the sunshine and rain.
