Sweet Slumber

All around the world is quiet and still.

So many people yet no sounds.

The night has come and all are home,

Sleeping away the worries of the day.

Men, women, children, none can survive without it.

Sleep is good, when you wake you will begin again.

We succumb to sleep again.

It is our one weakness we cannot overcome but we try still.

Even though we need and love it

We make noise we become loud in hopes of staying awake with the sounds.

Sometimes it may feel like we could sleep for days.

So stay awake, stay at work, don’t come home.

We need sleep, it creeps in our homes,

A welcome visitor that comes again,

To bring relief from the hardships of the day.

With it comes dreams of happiness but still

With sleep can come uneasiness, as silly as it sounds.

When we sleep how do we know we will wake from it?

Dreams and nightmares come with it,

But we will wake inside our beds and homes,

With calming breathing sounds

That will remind us once again

No matter what sleep brings we will wake still

These new chances and new opportunities in a new day.

This morning brings new chances a new beginning a new day

Where no bad has tarnished it.

There is new songs sung by birds who are still

Making their nests and building their homes.

Beginning the same old cycle again

Morning will break along with all its sounds.

So treat each new morning as this, no matter how hard it sounds,

Each time you wake u it is a miracle, each new day

Is a gift given by God again and again.

Cherish and enjoy it,

For you are here now, safe at home

With those who are now busy but once were still.

Every new morning with the sounds that go with it

Is a gift cherished every day in every home.

And true, again tonight you will sleep and tomorrow will come , but for now just breathe and be still.
