Sweet-talkin' Snake

Behind me lies the empty abyss.

Ahead of me lies the sweet-talkin' snake.

"Come" he cooes. "Just one last kiss."

Is it a mistake I can afford to make?

He's beautiful and he knows it.

Bright eyes; blond hair.

Perfect smile; perfect grace.

But all I can do is stare.

He treated her well for awhile.

Now he's back.

He see's the truth.

I have what she lacks.

I could walk into his fire,

And let my feelings turn.

Or I could run from his beauty.

Either way I will burn.
