The Swim We Must Endure

May we see our lives through the grace of the wide open sea.

The first step into the cold abyss is the one that defies the swim to come.
We dip a toe in to see if we can withstand being submerged
We think we are able. We think we are strong. We think we are ready.

Are we ready?

The swim is extensive and threatening; it will be a challenge.
Thunderclouds will roll in. Waters will get rough. Waves will crash.
We must fight. We must catch the wave and ride it out. We must not give up.

This life.

Life is the swim we must all take.
No we are not ready.
We must take the first cold dip
And then we must swim..

Swim through the waves of Fear
Swim through the waves of Identity
Swim through the waves of Guilt
Swim through the waves of Hate
Swim through the waves of Time
