swimming

The water reflects like a mirror

the smell of chlorine burns the summer air

the heat blisters skin.

arctic plunge into deep dark depths

depths that are to dark to absorb light,

to painful,

then a gasp and light

absorbed by heat once again.

laughter and smiles besides the amount of dark that screams below us.
