Swimming Pool

My toes touch the cool water.
Do I jump in or should I dive?
It doesn’t really matter I’m going to feel the cold down my spine.

First leap, I’m in waist deep.
Do I continue down my path?
Shivers down my spine.

Let’s go further.
The water’s at my chest and I’m weightless.
It feels as if I’m spinelessly floating through.

The water feels warm.
Was my mind playing tricks on me?
Or am I playing victim in the Devil’s spineless game?

Underwater, I’m in way over my head.
For a second everything is calm.
As if all my pain was washed away

My chest is tight.
I’m not going to get out of this.
Am I going to make it?

I rise. Reborn again.
Given another chance.
Time to start from the basic.
