Swimming Pools

Maybe I’m just too deep.

To deep for loyalty,

affection,

too deep to receive some consistency.

Nah.

Maybe you’re just too shallow.

You love to be on your side of the pool,

it poses no challenge.

That’s the side where all the hoes like to “swim,”

because they don’t want to get the hair wet.

They’re all about the looks,

but I’m about my books.

I’m willing to get my hair wet,

if that means saturating myself in the deep side of the pool of intelligence and real love.

I guess your depth just isn’t there yet.
