Swing Swung Out

An infection in his veins,

like the rust on the chains.

Swing swung out and knocked him down.

An itch under his skin,

adulthood must begin.

Swing swung out and tore some leaves.

An inner heat can’t keep him warm

from crowds of people or bees in swarms.

Swing swung out and went too high.

An insect makes its home

but he finally leaves and roams.

Swing swung out and broke in two.

Once you grow up innocence escapes you.
