The Switch -SirKelvin
::::::::The Switch:::::::
_
Somnolence overwhelmed me; the following happens every night:
_
I switched off the light
And walked to my bed with my hands
Holding my pillow with my leg; this reality is no trance
I closed my ears to say my prayers with my nose
Afterwards I put my earphone on my eyes and grip my pillow so close
Ah! As the music plays with such resonance, mellisonant, I sleep.
Only to wake up normal like you as sun rays heap.
_
Yes! It happened last night.
I switch when there is no light, my new plight
Don't be frightened, it's alright
Here, let me tell you about the Switch:
_
The circuit had a serious glitch
I was the only one in the lab that evening
The lights were glinting, the alarms blaring
It was oozing red fume charges, I had to turn it off
I reached out to the off switch, wham! There normality was coughed
The light all went off, a gloomy darkness descended
Quietness, tranquil, ineffable are words to describe the calm intended
Suddenly I felt a strong rushing pain all over my body
I felt my heart stopped pounding; as if for a while it was steady
Then I too went off and gradually turned on
Just to meet a darken darkness, that heaving in light would require a closer sun
I felt my shoes were off my feet to cover my palms
Only to feel my feet on my arms
So shocked I needed to scream
Ha! Just to yell from my nose; "this has to be a dream"
But it wasn't; not when my pupils are now in my ears
And the horrid silence my ear drums in my eye sockets now hear
My mouth? It switched places with my nostrils, from it I breathe
Overtime the pain and after-effect rumples ceased, now the metamorphosis is neat
So when the sun rose, I had become normal, humane, as my right placed eyes could see
Yet hardly recognized by my fellow researchers,
for I was thoroughly shaved, lightened complexion, so far from former me
Nonetheless, for 11 years I've live with the switch since 2045 when it happened
Now you know my rich secret, it's clandestine, don't share, leave it penned!
