Sword and Shield

Sword, glimmering bright with gold in the cloak of night

Silver shield in hand to hide from fright

Embellished with honor, both tained with crimson

How could we fall?

Slain by our own free will

Save whom you can, dear sword and shield

Wielded with hands of justice

Wings spread free with feathers of elegance

Armor sturdy to protect delicate mortal flesh

Silence falls with grace

Lace of tears decorate these shinning

Sword and Shield

What honor could we withold now?

It lies within our hearts

Compassion

Angels gave us compassion

Mortals gave us sword and shield

Freshman in college, just a writer looking to express herself as she freely wishes. I have a story to tell that not the tongue could utter but words can.
