Syd is me
I am at a different level
Some prefer to take the elevator
While I prefer the stairs
Not because I'm health conscious
And plan on living a thousand years
But rather because I understand that there
Are a million ways to get to the same place
I come from a different mindset that even
Before Beyoncé told the world that women ran it I knew it to be true. I am a seventeen year old who had seen her mother work her behind off from day one. That doesn't make me inferior but rather I say superior because I was capable of being able to know that life doesn't give you everything. I am knowledgeable not because I have read the dictionary cover to cover but rather because I have danced to the wisdom passed on to me by my great grandmother. I am a leader in every space that I walk through I stand tall and believe I have a dream similar to Martin Luther King Jr.
I see a world where education can be valued and that your teachers are there to guide you not to be an enemy. I see where society will stop believing that black G
on black crimes end with a two piece in the glove department.
I am trying to get the next level some call it the X level like Malcom X the one who in my had the golden ticket to success
I am everything society doesn't want me to which is cool because I'm happy.
