Symbolism

I think symbolism is funny.  Things that are different but show the same thing. Metaphors are silly.  She tattood her name on my heart and god it hurt. But no one saw that. She shit on me and I continue to look for a symbol something like proof Permanent and in my skin.  But I can't keep trying to prove I love you especially since I don't anymore.  I just don't want to let go but you left and I'm holding on to nothing. The pain in my heart you left doesn't hurt too often anymore, just healing like that old tattoo and here's a raised glass. Just for you.
