Synapsis

God sometimes I am

Electric.

I can't help but notice

That these too short of circuits

Burst though my heart

When I am alone,

With not a single soul

To see the flash.

Because most of the time,

I am the broken bulb.

Most of the time,

I am the shattered glass

And twisted wire

Beneath your feet.

Most of the time,

I am darkness.

Who would dare stumble through my shadows

To catch a brief glimpse,

A flash,

That would only burn the eyes?

Would that flash erase your memory of me?

Would you forget the pain

In your aching feet?

Would you forget

That I was the cause

Of it all?
