The System
"You're stupid."
"You're unworthy."
"You're a disappointment."
I would hear time and time again.
I hear them carousel through my mind.
No one ever told me I was stupid or unworthy,
But a system convinced me
It was the truth.
A system that determined my worth
Soley on my grade point average.
A system that determined my intelligence
By the way I bubbled my tests in.
A system that was blind to my capabilities.
Simply as a human.
Not a number.
Not a statistic.
But as a human.
