Tainted

I've been beaten down, for I was too innocent,

Locked up, for my heart was too pure,

Challenged, because I appeared weak.

My hopes and dreams plummeted into a dark place.

Chained and Silenced, for my rights and opinions are no longer relevant.

Tainted..

Rainbows turn into dark clouds,

Misleaded into the wrong crowds,

Drugs and Alcohol became my bestfriends,

cutting wrists became my safe zone, was the only thing that made the pain go away.

Tainted...

Couldn't raise myself

Mommy and Daddy were no help

I was loved but no one showed

Thought of, but I wasn't told

Tainted...

Hatred towards the people I love

Losing faith from The Man above

Tainted..

Finally things are going my way

My negative thoughts can no longer invade

Living the life I so long deserve

God heard, my crys and help

For now I stand today, feeling proud of myself.
