Tainted

The past cannot be erased, Neither can the look of your beautiful face. The memories stuck in their head, Those memories with you, I dread. Once it is done it does not end, It follows you into the arms of a friend. But there are no words that can be found, Into the darkness you have been bound. No words can console my bitter fear, Even though I know what's been here. The words pop up like a raging fire, And the beats of my heart begin to tire. You cannot give me what you don't own, Not if you gave the other dog the bone. And no matter how hard we try to forget, It'll never be something they can regret. That part of you I cannot reach, The action's done kill like a leech. There's no way to go back, Only the pieces that you lack. I may not be before me back then, But I know that they'll always remember when. The "many times" and "never" always take away, The actions, the thoughts I thought I could say. What's done is done and it'll never pass, Like the fall of sand from life's hourglass. Even though you may try to just move on, It's important to know that the show had gone on. There were people before me there, Long before I was ever a care. But the worst thing isn't that I couldn't shape it, The most awful thing of all is that I just can't escape it.
