Tainted Love
Love is a tainted work of art
Love is a tainted color
A tortured soul
Not Served On a platter for 2
By a Maitre D in a dim lit room
Served on insecurities, previous relationships, and unpredictable kamikazes
Love walking on a thin thin line
Love is a tainted sky
An unfiltered battlefield
A series of blacks, yellows, whites, greys, and purples
Other voices slammed behind the surface
I'll take it on with you
That's love
I'll take them on with you
That's love
You're not forced to juggle it alone
That's love
We're clowns together
That's love
We'll paint our faces to this song
But we can take it off together
That's love
It's the good and bad
Collage of thoughts
Hands that go on
And know when to stay off
It's the stupid thing that makes us smile
Keeps us lost and keeps us found
It's the inner child that gets to come out
Even when adults are around
That's love
Now that's love
