Take

They expect you to take it,

to lie down and take the abuse.

Words do hurt,

they cut deep.

They take away you ambition.

Leave you with mental scarres that heal over time.

But do those scarres really heal?

You can see them every day,

they are deep

and dark.

They remind you

of all the pain that was cause,

They tell you your worth,

make you feel like nothing.

They find joy in your agony,

and expect you to take it lying down.
